Koronet Pizza

jumbo slices are the size of your head. We first started in Morningside Heights and became a hot commodity among Columbia University students. “The pizzeria is locally famous among hungry bargain-hunters looking to fill up on the cheap and because it's open to accommodate our customers.”



Nick Manikis, our Founder and CEO, has been serving Koronet jumbo pies since first opening in 1981. Nick Manikis,"It was my father who started it." Back in the days “25” inches was “small”, ergo a supersized diameter of 30 inches, offering a large slice of savory, mouth-watering pizza.In 1990, Manikis said, they supersized the pies to the current 30-inch diameter. Koronet also sells "small" pies and slices. Small being relative — at 16 inches across, they'd be larges anywhere else.
