Ripped and distressed jeans have become a popular trend in the past years. Businesses have taken advantage of that therefore, finding a nice pair can be pricey. With these easy steps you can take any jeans you already own and customize them to how distressed you would like them.
Begin by finding a pair of jeans in your closet that could be restyled.
The next step would be to gather all the needed materials. You will need a scissor, tweezers, a measuring tape and a white crayon or color pencil.
You will first use the measuring tape to determine the length of where you want your rip to be. Then mark your measurement with the white crayon.
Next, cut a small pinch on the line right in the center. Do not cut the entire line with the scissors or your rip will look too raw cut and awkward.
After you have a small rip you're going to pull it with your hands to make the rip larger. You will rip it until the end of your line mark.
Now that you have your hole ripped all the way you can use your tweezers to pull out some threads. This will give it the distressed look and make the edges look fringed and not so raw cut.
After you have completed all of these steps you will end up with your new ripped jeans. Here I have made one rip at the knee. You can take it a step further to your liking. You can make two rips at the knee or even cut the bottom hem to give your jeans an edgier feel.
